I downloaded Limewire last night and it still hasn't "connected to the network." When i try to search for anything a message pops up saying "Limewire is trying to connect to the network." I let it sit there for a few hours and it still didnt do connect. I already tried saving the Gnutella folder to my Limewire folder and that didn't work. also i tried downloading that new Java software after deleting the old one i had but it wouldn't let me download it. Help me out please.

darkman - i had the same issue. i have been troubleshooting this since yesterday after upgrading to 4.16. bottom line is i did the following;
1) deinstall limewire completely 2) do a file search on *limewire*.* 3) delete everything, empty recycle bin and reboot 4) download limewire I am now connecting !!! |

Actually the only problem was that my norton Internet security was blocking the connection. But thanks for your help though.

I think I may have the same problem with Norton. Can you please tell me how you solved the blocking? thanks!

Just find the settings where it lets you unblock stuff. I think its called personal firewall.
