Default No Virus Protection..still can't connect!

I did have limewire on my computer a few months ago, and it worked fine. I came home from school and haven't used it in awhile, finally downloaded the new version, and I can't connect for the life of me. I took off all of my norton antivirus software, and I'm pretty sure there's no other virus protection stuff. I've already tried deleting limewire fully (or so I think) and tried playing around with my windows firewall...and it's still not connecting. PLEASE HELP! Oh and my recycle bin is "Norton Protected Recycle Bin" on my desktop, and now that I deleted Norton, it won't let me open up my recycle bin if I double click on it. Any suggestions? I miss my limewire dearly..

antivirus software shouldn't conflict with connecting...its a firewall that does that..perhaps your ISP at home is blocking p2p traffic
