In Limewire LInks (below) click on (if LW will not connect) and go through these fixes, if still doesnt work try this link (fixes for limewire) if still not connected pse click on (system details) and fill in as much as you can and post back here

This FINALLY worked for me after many struggles to maintain a LimeWire connection. It seemed that I would have a connection for a few days then lose it again. I noticed that whenever Microsoft downloaded its Software Distribution Service 3.0, that was when my LimeWire connection was lost. I contacted Microsoft about it ($59.00 later) and this is what they did.

Action : Tried to connect the Lime Wire application.

Result : Unable to connect.

Cause : Software distribution files corruption.

Resolution : Deleted the contents inside the C:\windows\softwaredistribution folder and reregister the windows updates DLL files. Issue resolved.

This was far too technical an intervention for me to undertake but folks with some computer skills might be able to do it.
