Limewire kicks me off internet

Ok, I know I don't have all the info that's requested. Honestly I don't know the answers to most of it. I'm a trial and error kind of computer person :) But I've used LW forever with no problems. All of the sudden it started kicking me off the internet most of the times I open it up. Every once in a while it will work for an hour or so then all of the sudden it boots me off again. I have to unplug my router to get my internet up again. A friend said it might be because the router can't handle all the people downloading all the songs I'm sharing so I tried moving them to a different folder. LW worked for an hour, I downloaded 11 songs and then it kicked me off again. I've tried reopening it a bunch of times, and done everything I can think of. Any ideas?????

Try un-installling the version of LimeWire you have and re-install with the most recent full release 4.16.6. I can't say why you would have your connection to the net completely closed. That is a strange problem...
Another good thing to do is to scan your computer with a reputable virus scanner to make sure your system has not become infected with any viruses or trojan horse files.
You can even get the highly reputable AVG free version from grisoft. And it will scan your whole computer and let you know what the score is.
Are there in fact a lot of people uploading songs from you or are you just assuming that that is the case?
You can check this by looking at the monitor tab within Limewire.
Read as many of the "Sticky" posts as you can. Maybe among them is an answer that will help you.

Just wondering if you found something that fixed it

1. Which version of LW are you using?
2. Is your Java version up to date?
3. Do you have lots of incomplete download files?
4. Do you have lots of shared files?
5. Are you downloading or sharing torrent files using LW?
