Unable to connect

First my system
Windows xp pro sp2
Windows firewall: Limewire is selected on the exception list
RAM: 2g
HDD available space: 50 g
Connection type: DSL
ISP: Windstream communications
Modem: SpeadStream 4200
Linksys Router: WRK54G

I have checked the settings for my ISP, modem and router and none are blocking

this is my home computer
LW ver 4.16.6 Pro
Java Ver 1.6.0_05
Performed the test and the page displayed is the IE unable to connect page.

My computer is on a home network but LW is installed on only one of the computers
I have used LW before without problems. However I did have a system crash and had to reinstall all programs. My ISP, modem, and router are the same and LW worked.
LW does detect a firewall as it did before when it worked.
UPnP is enabled
I am using Avast antivirus. There is no firewall but Avast does monitor, without blocking. I am using Windows defender but is does not block.
I am in the USA
What I have done with no luck:
disconnected/reconnected
disabled show tips at startup * connect on startup
replaced gnutella.net file
Updated Java
deleted LW preferences folder
changed listening port
I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times

I have installed axence nettools 3.1 (free version) on my computer. In the netwatch it sees gnutella.net and I can do a traceroute successfully. I have come to the conculusion that LW is unable to read the gnutella.net file for some reason. I noticed that when I opened the preferences folder gnutella.net file had not been copied to the folder during installation. I downloaded the file to the preferences folder, but still I cannot connect. What do I do now?

I fixed my connection problem

I found the setup application for my speedstream 4200 modem and reset the firewall level. Even though my ISP provides a program to set a firewall level, it did not change it for the modem. As soon as I changed the firewall level within the modem setup turbocharged connection was achieved. I hope that this will help someone else. :yahoo:
