Used to connect to LM, and now no more!

Hi all,

I've looked across all the other posts and tried lots of different suggestions to no avail.

I used to be able to download via LW, but now I cannot. My specs are as follows:

- LM: 4.16.6
- OS: Vista Home Premium
- Laptop: HP Pavillion
- RAM: 2gb
- HDD: 120gb, with plenty left
- Anti Virus: Norton Internet Security 2007 (v. 10.4.0.13)
- Also running IE7PRO
- Connections: have tried all three of the following, with the same results:
- 3G HSPDA
- WiMax
- WiFi
- ISP: Mweb (South Africa)
- I get the firewall image infront of the globe (bottom left of LW), and depending on the setting as suggested in the various forums, I have either one or no green bars on the connection strength.

- What's changed since I lasted connected: Strated syncing my Black Berry Curve with Outlook, and added a new camera and software (Canon EOS 40D) as well as iTouch 32gb.

Am suffering from withdrawal . . . someone help???

Thanks,

Led

Check your Norton Internet Security.
That tends to Block Lime Wire from going through.
Let me no if that helps.

Many third-party security programs block LimeWire from connecting either by restricting access to the port that LimeWire uses to connect to the Gnutella network (i.e. - a firewall), the program itself, or a combination of the two. These programs may have been pre-installed on your computer when you first purchased it. Check the Windows system tray (usually located in the bottom-right corner of the screen, next to the time), and locate the icon that is associated with the security program that you are using. Right-click the icon to enter the settings.

Hi,

I've tried disabling Norton's Firewall, as well as the Windows Firewall; but I still don't get any joy. Also, in Norton, under Personal Firewall - Program Control, I've ensured that Limewire is set to ALLOW.

Any other ideas?

Led :-)

Read through this list and see if your isp pops up.

Lw not working

Hi Ive been using the limewire free version for a few months now, and all of a sudden its just refuses to work... I deleted it and downloaded limewire version 4.16.6 and now when ever i use it it says "limewire is not fullly connected to the network. your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network" it does this all the time even after waiting a good long while after opening LW... what can i do?

Thanks
Monkey
