does my college block gnutella?

I can no longer connect to the network. I can receive incoming connections just fine -- and do. But I can't get even a single outgoing connection. I am sharing files (~1500), I have tried multiple clients, and mutliple versions of limewire. I did the telnet thing and got the GNUTELLA OK string, so my dorm connection wouldn't be blocking gnutella ports, right?

If it was, could I set up a proxy server to get around this?

Also, when you click on 'connect' in limewire it doesn't do anything. If I want it to try and connect, I have to shutdown limewire and fire it up again. And the manual address entry is broken.

Thanks,
Josh

If you are talking about the Status column in the Connections tab, sometimes you will get all Incoming or all Outgoing. As long as you can do searches, download, and upload then things are working fine. The status of your connections will vary depending on how the network is structured at moment. In fact if all you see is Incoming then that's great as not many hosts can accept incoming connections.
