my computer won't search
 
I have had limewire for about 2 years..nothing has changed. I have dsl, windows xp. When I type a name in search, it puts the name up like it is searching but nothing is coming up. So I updated to a newer version (not PRO) and nothing. I have checked to make sure my firewall is allowing limewire and it is. I have checked everything else that I could think of. I don't know what is wrong. Any ideas?

OS version? (eg: Windows 98) If using Windows Vista, please tell us whether you have an Administrator user account.WINDOWS XP
2. What firewalls you have? NORTON (DISABLED)
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?200
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)BROADBAND
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?SPEEDSTREAM 5100
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)?HOUSE
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW 416.6 AND JAVA 1.6
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? SBC
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? YOUR TEST WORKED
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. NO
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. NEW PROB, EXPERIENCE USER
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? _ click here to see Sample imageYES BUT I MADE SURE LW WAS ACCEPTED
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled?
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall NORTON (DISABLED)
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). USA

connection problems
 
Hello tiffany61105 and all forum users
I am a newbie and have limewire Pro and i have exactly the same problem.
When i press search the program seems to go searching the plun icon top right is flashing for a while and then stops without displaying any results.
My operating system is windows xp, cable broadband 8mb.
i use ***uard from Virgin with limewire allowed
My system is uvnp compatable
Hope i haven`t bored you with my limited knowledge

hi im shaun and im having exactly the same problems and would like2 know what 2 do iv never did any type of blog b4 but maybe this will help me so any suggestions....:shoot:
