I get the msg: Limewire is currently trying to connect to network - Help ???

hello everyone, my name lilmiz.
I am using windows vista with only the regular windows security settings. Which are windows security & windows defender. I have 894 mb of ram. i have 69 0f 80 g hard disk space available. I am using a dell 1501 inspiron laptop connecting to my downstairs office desktop verizon dsl internet with westell versalink 327w model router. The desktop downstairs is windows xp operated with basic windows security. im using limewire 4.16.6. on my laptop. i have java platform 6 update 5 installed & running.i am Upnp enabled & the firewall on limewire is detected. I live in philadelphia, pennsylvania. I put limewire under the exception in my security settings, I even turn security off. then restarted. when i open limewire it still gives me the message that (limewire is currently trying to connect to network. your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network) Also under the connectio tab there is none listed. Can anyone please help me?
