connection problems with version 4.16

Hi,
I have used LimeWire Basic for a long time and have only ever had the occasional connection problem. However, lately I have been completely unable to connect. This was with version 4.12 so I downloaded the latest version 4.16 but it still will not connect. I use ZoneAlarm firewall and have allowed Limewire to both connect to the network and act as a server but it still will not connect. Can anyone help me with this problem?

Thanks in advance

So... (a little sombre cello here in the background)... er...
What happens if you do a Shutdown... Does it still work OK ?

(Perhaps the JAWS background music should be on during the Shutdown and Start, huh ?)

NO I will not shut LW down I'm afraid I dont want to have the same problem, of having days where I cant connect. I'm the onlyone in the Copm that had this problem. The other Accounts where avail to connect right away after opening LW.

Ok question, LW was running and was not connected how did a file finish downloading if it did not have a connection and how are people downloding files from my Library???

not sure if this has anything to do with my connection problem but when i close limewire a box comes up saying limewire is shutting down but it never closes properly and the box never goes away. could this be related to my connection problems?

ja020 April 18th, 2008 01:52 AM

I have same problems. Recently having trouble connecting, so updated to 4.16. My ISP is TalkTalk, and getting no bars at all in the connections box. I also have a Linksys 354G wireless router, and this is fine. Also tried to manually port forward, but no luck. The Router firewall is turned off, and I only use the XP firewall. Suspect that it is ISP troubles, although have tried emule to check, and it is very slow, but connects OK.
