All I can suggest is to see that the Firewall in your copy of CA Security Suite is set to allow LimeWire to have full access ("inward and outward") to the internet.

wondering why April 14th, 2008 03:18 AM

Try these instructions for configuring your CA security suite...
PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

If you are using the full suite including the anti-virus protection it is wise to disable your Norton as having 2 will more than likely clash and give you less protection to no protection at all....

Your modem/router may also have an inbuilt Nat firewall, but I couldn't find any info on it at the port forwarding site....

In my CA Firewall, I can get to the add exceptions screen, but every program that I try to add on the exceptions list doesn't show up when it's done. I don't know if I've accidentally configured something in CA security suite that doesn't allow any exceptions or what. I can't find anything about it in the settings. any ideas?

Thanks.

I've removed both antivirus programs and am only running the windows firewall with limewire set to allow. Still nothing. Any other thoughts?

I Think It's Fixed....

I removed CA security suite and Limewire has 100% connection!! YEAH! now I'm on to other problems. I'm downloading at like 4kbps and it's KILLING ME!!!!!! off to another forum I guess, unless anyone has some quick fixes.... let me know.

Sorry biggmakk.
My Ace comment was not aimed at you.
It was at RobertR.

I'm sure you'll get the problem sorted here so don't run away too soon!
If your problems are maybe caused by your modem you will be able to get good help from the regulars here who know a lot about modem-router-firewall issues.

And please do not ever connect to the internet without a security program running.
Never.

should I download the CA security suite again? I'll give it a shot to see if limewire will still run with it.
