Can't access options menu or anything!

:bangh:I've almost had it with Limewire Pro! I was connecting and downloading ok yesterday, then it went haywire. The program on startup would tell me I was sharing over 1,000 files, stuff I know I don't have on my computer. What's wore is that it locks my computer up and I have to close down through cntrl-alt-dlt. I did manage to stop sharing the folder but now I can't access any of the options menus to setup limewire. Everytime I click on options or configure, it just flashes the option screen for a tick and then nothing! Here is all the junk you guys need. I'm using Limewire Pro 4.16.6 with Java 1.6.0_05. I am running norton antivirus and spysweeper and have them both configured to allow Limewire. I'm connected through a cable modem, Motorola SBS5100. I'm in an apartment and my ISP is Bresnan Communications. I'm in The USA
Please rush urgent help! Thank you guys!!!

Sounds like you may be Infected. Try Birdy's advise below.

Download AVG Free AV. Update AVG & then scan your computer. There's a link for download in the thread below. See whether AVG fixes the problem for you.
tools/options

If that doesn't help, there are various other fixes (BFU, vundofix, system restore) in the threads below...there are different fixes to try as there seem to have been a few variations of this thing over timehttp://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...lies/smile.gif

2 probs (LW keeps restarting & can't access options)
Starts on its own/ options folder won't open (possible fix)

Always make sure that you're using a good AV program. Keep it updated & use it to scan all files that you download, before you open them...hopefully you won't download infected files again
