Limewire stopped connecting - A FIX My Limewire stopped connecting about 2 weeks ago. I don't have it blocked. It is listed as an exception. Please help. Thanks, Dennis OS version? Modem & router brand name & model numbers?not using one 7. Where are you trying to connect from? home 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? java= 6 update 5 and Limewire 4.16.6 pro 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Roadrunner (Time Warner) 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: It says your test worked 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? no 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. i've had limewire for a long time and all the sudden now it's not connecting 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?yes and i've already created an exception 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? not using 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? CA Suite (I turned off just today to see if that would fix the problem) 16. What country are you living in? USA |
Have you recently updated or fresh installed a new release of Limewire ? If yes, > If LimeWire Will Not Load and, maybe > Fixes For Limewire When LW Isn't Operating As It Should |
My Limewire is working again. All I did was get rid of all of the java files and then downloaded the newest version. This did the trick. The only mistake I made was getting rid of my entire library of songs. Luckily they are already saved in windows media player. Thanks again, Dennis |

I did uninstall limewire before I saw your post. I really think they are gone. Is there anyway I can take the tunes out of windows media player and put back into limewire? Thanks, Dennis |
