![]() Your router is cutting out on you because it is mistaking limewire for IP attacks. Next time you launch limewire, check out your router's log file and it probably will confirm this. windows firewall is not the only firewall, many routers come equipped with one that you can also disable or allow port forwarding. I know for sure this is the case with the Belkin wireless G router and i'm curious if Netgear is the same. |

I have the same problem and wonder how can I fix this ? I also have a Belkin Wireless router, but it worked fine at first, I installed lime wire and I had no problem for about 2 weeks, now everytime I try to use limewire, it keeps shutting down the router and then I have no access to the internet. The only way to bring everything back is to reset the router. What settings in the router do I need to change in order to fix this ? Mg |

Open limewire, go to the network/firewall options and select default. Copy the default port number ~ 6346 or something like that... Open Internet explorer and go to your router interface: 192.168.x.x Login into the router and go to the advance setting. 1. Enable PNp Plug and Play network, where limewire can configure the router. 2. Go to the virtual server and type the 6346 number on both TCP/X and the other port name, forgot what it is and enable that option as well... Save the settings and reboot the router. Exit Limewire and reboot the computer. Start Limewire back up and now Limewire should use Pnp to talk to the router and confiure it, but if that fails, at least the port 6346 will be manualy open and limewire will be able to use, so fail proof communication. That did it for me... Hope it helps... |

![]() That didn't work for me. 1. Enable PNp Plug and Play network, where limewire can configure the router. Was already enabled 2. Go to the virtual server and type the 6346 number on both TCP/X and the other port name, forgot what it is and enable that option as well... I had nothing in the virtual server folder and couldnt see TCP/X. I have limewire Pro 4.16.7 (the latest one). Everytime I download something after about 1 minute it goes down to 0k/b and disconnects my internet connection. WHY????? Why is this new version of Pro doing it? Can I get old versions of pro back? Can someone please help me fix this? I am ready to throw in the towel with limewire. Thanks guys Don |
