connecton/ firewall problems :bangh: 1. OS version? windows xp home 2. What firewalls you have? windows but it is OFF> mcafee an it is allowing limewire. 3. How much ram?512mb 4. Hard Disk space available? 107 gb 5. Connection type? ( broadband, (hughesnet) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? DW7000 7. Where are you trying to connect from (house) 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) 4.16.7 & Java do you have? 1.6.0_05 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Hughes.net 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? TEST WORKED. 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? NO 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. NEW PROBLEM WITH EXPERIENCED USER 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? YES!!!_ 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? ??? N/A 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? What country are you living in? USA Please help!!! I have tried all the suggestions on the forum and nothing seems to work for me. I have 2 or 3 bars then it goes back to nothing. I also have a brick wall even thou mcafee is letting limewire have full access. I never had this problem till i updated to the new limewire program. It seems I'm not the only one haveing this problem. I just want limewire to work like it did before the update!!!!!!!!!! :bangh: Please help!!!!! THINGS I Have TRIED!!!!! linksys My guess would be the router - is it linksys? Does it also come w/ a firewall that you can disable? Test out port forwarding on 6346 (limewire port) Check out the router log after you launch limewire...does it reference IP Flooding? :cool: |
I do not have a router. I use hughesnet satellite to get on line and with only 1 computer, nothing else. |
connection Had same problem, and did this and worked great. Shut down Limewire Find your '.limewire' folder and delete it. Mine was C:>Documents and settings>(your user name)>.limewire Restart LW and from there you can reset your preferences again under 'Tools>Options'. |
I have tried all the things listed in the STICKY'S AN nothing has worked!!!!! Including deleting the .limewire folder and the gnutella.net folder. Also tried uninstalling limewire, deleting all file that deal with limewire. NOTHING HELPS SO FAR!! |
