![]() Limewire has been working perfectly until now, for some reason I'm getting an error message at startup: "Limewire was unable to set up a port to listen for incoming connections. Some features of Limewire may not work as expected."I've been here and tried everything except downloading Java again, nothing has worked. I only want to re-download Java as a last resort, because its a big file and I'm on dialup. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html OK so here are my details as per the sticky, I don't know how many are relevant because Limewire has been working fine until now: 1. OS = Windows XP SP2 2. Firewall = ZoneAlarm ver. 7.0.470.000 (Should not be the problem because Limewire still wouldn't work even when the firewall is off) 3. 1GB RAM 4. Hard Drive split into 2 drives C and E, C = 15 of 29.2 GB used, E = 74.7 of 119 GB used, Limewire is installed onto C. 5. Dial up Connection 6. No router, internal PCP (I think?) generic dialup modem, this should not be causing the problem because its been fine and I haven't changed any settings on it. 7. Connecting from Home 8. Limewire ver. 4.16.6, Java ver. 1.6.0_05 9. ISP = TPG (Canberra, Australia) 10. The test worked 11. The connection is not shared with any other computers, the only other P2P programs are uTorrent and Free Dowload manager, but they don't initialize on startup and they were already installed before Limewire and it worked before. 12. I have been using Limewire successfully for around 2 months, I have the free version. 13. Yes, I see the firewall indicator. See 2. for why I don't think its the firewall that's the problem (My firewall is on now but it also failed when it was off). 14. I don't really know the specifics of my modem setup, but no settings have been changed from when Limewire was operational. 15. For security I am using Spybot Search and Destroy and AVG free 8.0.100 16. As previously mentioned I'm in Canberra, Australia. Can anybody help? |
