can't connect to Lime Wire

After upgrading to version 4.16.7, I could not connect to Limewire. I could open up the app, but would not connect. So I see the firwall warning, But I don't have one, well, Windows - so I turned that off. I turned off everything that could possibly interfere. But to no avail. I removed the new version, and installed an older version, but now still can't connect. So don't upgrade Limewire if its working now. If you do, it may not work ever again, stay with the versions that's running.
Now does anyone know a fix for this? Please???

Hi sanman07 Please ensure that you are using only 1 firewall -- disable 1 and make sure the one you are using has an exception to allow limewire.exe -- Now In Limewire Links (below) click on (If LW will not connect) and scroll down to "DELETE LIMEWIRES PREFERENCE FOLDER"-- just follow the instructions -- if your problem still remains do the rest of the fixes starting from the top -- if still no good click on (system details) and fill in as much as you can and post back here
