I'm having the same problem with limewire myself. Been using it for years now and suddenly my connection does not work but my father's on another computer works beautifully even though we share the same internet connectio (I'm on router, he's direct). I have no problems connecting with any other software other than P2P such as limewire. Azureus works fine.

1. OS version? Vista

2. What firewalls you have? Windows firewall

3. How much ram? 2

4. Hard Disk space available?over 300 gig

5. Connection type?cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? no idea
7. Where are you trying to connect from? home

8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have?LW 4.14.0, java SE runtime environment 6 update 1 (? dont know if that's right but it's what control panel's telling me)

9. Who is your ISP ? shaw

10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?test worked

11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. I'm not sure exactly, I use a router so we share the internet connection? (I'm not computer savvy so I'm not sure what the question is asking)

12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I'm an experienced user

13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes

14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? don't know, I don't know much about computers

15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Windows firewall, symantic anti virus

16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). Canada

I don't know why mine won't connect. My housemate has an older version of limewire and the same antivirus/firewall and he can connect. So i know it isn't the antivirus, firewall or modem causing the problem so what is it!?

hi guys,
I´ve been having the same ******* problems with logging in. and I dont know **** about this. but I tried this: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html

I searched my computer to find the gnutella.net file. found it, and deleted it. then I downloaded it from the first link(in the abovementioned link) and put it the same(limewire) folder, from where I deleted the first. and voila: everything works again! very easy!
