Limewire will not open (and yes I tried to read as many posts I could)

I use to have LW on this computer a long time ago. I had to reformat and of course lost everything.

I CAN get Limewire to download and install, that is not my problem. My problem is that it will NOT open up. After you install it it asks to run limewire, and it will not open. I click on the icon on my desktop, it will not open. It does not do anything at all.

Someone help me, please

I too am having the same issue. I was using LimeWire right up until Saturday May 31. Sunday I performed a defrag and since then LimeWire will not load. That's all I did... a simple defrag..the same one I've done for years on Sunday without a LimeWire hitch. Then suddenly...Click the icon..nothing, nada, zip.
I tried reinstalling it. When ever you click on the icon installation exe. file when. I'm in install hell, uninstall, reinstall hell.
I will try those "fixes" and bet I have an even deeper problem ensue.

Got it to work. Thanks Skyliner. I ended up going and downloading the newest offline version of java. It actually opened for me!
