Old LImeWire user with new problem. (can't get connected to search & download)
 

After using LimeWire successfully for a few years lately I can't get connected to search and download.

What's changed?

not to sure but if limewire was not turned on for some time then its first order of business would be to find a node already in the network. For some reason maybe your computer is taking a bit long to do this. Try opening limewire and leaving the program running in that time it can reconnect itself with the network hopefully

My experience is similar. Used LW for several years, updated regularly, now when searching for ***** I get no reply . . .
Can't help but wonder if I'm being held hostage to go with LW Pro.
Any suggestions (other than going Pro)?

I have been having the same problem ever since I update from 4.16.2(?) to 4.18.2. I have been logged on for about 3 hours a session, but never any connection. It seems you are right about the encouragement to go to Pro. Are there any Pro users who are having this problem since upgrading?

I deleted 4.18 and reloaded 4.16 and the program now connects like it is supposed to. A word to the wise.

Pro does not work any better.

I upgraded and lost my pro. I went to My Documents, re-downloaded my Pro and it has been connecting fine since.

Absolutely do not upgrade just to try to fix a problem. There's not much difference between Pro & basic...chances are that if you have a problem with basic, you'll have the same problem with Pro;)


Go through the fixes in the thread below. If nothing there helps, post back with your system details - we can't help much if we know nothing about your setup.

I'm having identical problem and am a Pro user. I don't think its being held hostage that is the answer because I really have just about run out of things to try and am a Pro version user.
