Was this the thread that you went through for fixes? If not, go through that one & see if anything helps.
If LW Will Not Connect

Did you try deleting LW's preferences folder? Remember that LW has to be properly closed first, or it's a waste of time. Also remember to look for a prefs folder in the old location (within Documents and Settings). After you deleted the prefs folder, did you have to go through the LW setup wizard again?

Did you try updating and/or installing an older version of Java? Remember to only have 1 version of Java installed at a time.

When you replaced the gnutella.net file, was LW properly closed? What size is the gnutella.net file that you have installed now?

If you're stuck, please post your system details (the link above has info about that):)

im not seeing any of these preference folders ??
C:\Documents and Settings\Michael\Application Data\LimeWire thats where i am looking and there are no file or folders with preference written

birdy June 9th, 2008 02:28 AM

The preferences folder isn't called 'preferences';)

If you look in C:\Documents and Settings\Michael\Application Data\LimeWire...the LimeWire folder is the prefs folder. That's the one to delete.

And if you've had way older versions of LW installed in the past & look in C:\Documents and Settings\Michael\.limewire...the .limewire folder is the old location for the prefs folder. If you have a folder named .limewire - delete that too.

When you set up port forwarding, did you make sure to set up a static IP address first?
