Default connection problem (Limewire and others, too)

Limewire (and others I've tried) cannot connect. Appears behind firewall.

System details:

Op. System is XP
Windows firewall (with limewire enabled)
not sure about RAM (how do I find that out?)
C drive has 52 GB of free space
connection type is DSL (Windstream)
DSL modem is Speedstream 5200/router is Linksys WAP54G
however........Linksys router is NOT connected to the internet. Was only installed because I got a wireless 4-in-1 machine. There's also a Dynex ethernet hub.
I'm connecting from home.
Limewire version installed: 4.18.3
Java is up to date
ISP is Windstream and I'm not sharing with other computers.
I could not connect to the test page www.3.limewire.......
I had no problems with LW before I reinstalled op. system and the router/wireless 4 in 1 machine was hooked up.
There is a brick wall in front of 'world' symbol
I'm using Kaspersky anti virus
Live in USA

Although I'm not totally 'computer savvy', it seems to me that the router has something to do with this, although friend who installed it says it shouldn't because it isn't connected to the internet.

Hope I've given all the info I need to correctly! I sure would appreciate some help. I've tried a lot of the suggestions and nothing seems to work.

Thank you so much.......

Maggie S
