Sudden loss of connection I have been using LW Pro for a while, but within the past 36 hours or so I have been unable to get past the "1 bar" connection status. However, other people I know can connect with no problems using LW Lite and XP Pro. (Not on the network information below, but a different, independent connection elsewhere that I first noticed the problem) System info: 1. OS version? -- Vista Home Premium using Admin account 2. What firewalls you have? -- Norton Internet Security - LW added as "safe program", Windows firewall disabled. 3. How much ram? -- 2 GIG 4. Hard Disk space available? -- 100GIG 5. Connection type? -- Cable (Comcast extra) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? -- Modem: Motorola SB5120, Vonage VOIP modem/router -- Motorola VT2442 (Wireless router in network as well, but using direct ethernet connection -- wireless device disabled {even tried using wireless after disabling ethernet connection}) 7. Where are you trying to connect from? -- Home 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? -- LW 4.18.2 Pro, Java 1.6.0_05 9. Who is your ISP? -- Comcast cable 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? -- You're test worked. 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. -- If you're asking is my system the gateway for others, no. Network is shared by other computers. No other p2p programs running. 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. -- New problem as I consider myself an experienced user. 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? -- Yes. 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? -- UPnP, no port forwarding or port triggering. 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? -- Norton Internet Security. Aware of the firewall, as stated above, LW is "safe" program. (Set to "Allow") 16. What country are you living in? -- USA Hope someone can assist. TIA 70x7 -- AKA: Mike |
Update I have resolved my issue. Following the suggestion of replacing the gnutella.net file fixed it for me. Sorry for the "waste" of space. :) Follow this link: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html and click on the second download site. It worked for me. Good luck to others. 70x7 |
