Firewall Problems

Help me please I am so frustrated. Installed Limewire 4.18.3. Installed fine and I can open the program but Limewire keeps detecting a firewall and I have turned off all firewalls (Microsoft firewall and Telus security Firewall). It still says it detects a firewall though so I can't get a connection. I had an older version of Limewire awile ago and it always worked.......but then I unistalled it as we weren't using it. When I have re-installed this newest version I now have this firewall problem. I am using broadband, Windows XP, don't know what else to mention. Any suggestions?

Same here. I was usig an older version of Limewire and now that i have installed the latest version of Limewire i keep getting a message telling me that i am using a firewall. i have tried unsuccessfully to find a firewall which i do not have and i still cant get anything downloaded on limewire. i wish i would have never uninstalled the older version.. As my dad used to tell me, "If it aint broke, dont fix it".. can someone out there tell me what i need to do to see if i have a firewall on my older system, i am using windows ME and i have typed in the word firewall into my search and i cant see anything that comes up that says anything about any kind of firewall. i really need to do some downloading. any suggestions.. Please help.. thank you..David
