I need help... cannot connect

Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network. (not about connecting to files, that is a Download/Upload Problems section issue.) Please supply system details as described in the forum rules.

Lord of the Rings has a distinguished reputation

For those of you who do not have LW Pro, you can try an older version Download LimeWire Basic 4.16.6 - FileHippo.com or 4.16.3 should be reliable.

But you will still need to make an exception for LimeWire (LW) in the XP firewall. And if using a router then you will need to tell us which brand & model if still problems. And sometimes when using a different version of LW, you need to remove the previous firewall rule setting & re-add it for the other version.
