Default Limewire firewall

I have limewire pro 4.16.6, I have windows xp home on my pc. Up until 4 days ago I was a downloading fool. So this weekend I tried to launch it again and have a brick wall, firewall present, on the program. Why does it lose the connection like this. This is the second time this has happened to me in the past year. Now before I created this message I get the box that says limewire can't initialize, so I don't get the limewire page anymore. HELP

Sounds like the UPnP on your modem/router is unreliable. Some devices do not have reliable implementations of UPnP. UPnP allows a program to send a request to the router to open a port for just that session.

Port forwarding a device is more reliable than UPnP .. of course depending on brand & model.

Also something else that can affect reliable connection is too many incompletes as it can flood connection ... ie: give the router problems .. this will especially apply to UPnP mode but not only. -> Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! (click on blue link)
