Yea!!! It worked for me!!! I simply had to post this....woo hoo!!...it worked for me!! I just replaced the gnutella.net file and voila...Limewire connected!!! Here's the lowdown:
I had used Limewire previously (Ver 4.14..) without any problems (Even when I was behind a firewall)...that was about 6 mths ago. Then when I tried using it today....it didn't connect. There was only 1 bar in the connection status and there was a brick wall in front of the globe. I updated to Limewire 4.18.3 but still nothing. Updated Jave to Java 6 update 10 Beta. Still same results. Last, with no options left, I decided to go to zSHARE - gnutella.net and downloaded the file and replaced the old one with this one. Well!!! It worked like a charm!!! I opened Limewire 4.18.3 and the connection bars started rising...and rising until they became all green and guess what? The brick wall just disappeared!!!....Now that's amazin!!!! I have to give a shout out to Birdy and his excellent tips!!! Thanks mate!! You were a real help!!! |
