No, it's definitely not. I did that multiple times last night.

Default Yea!!! It worked for me!!!

I simply had to post this....woo hoo!!...it worked for me!! I just replaced the gnutella.net file and voila...Limewire connected!!! Here's the lowdown:

I had used Limewire previously (Ver 4.14..) without any problems (Even when I was behind a firewall)...that was about 6 mths ago. Then when I tried using it today....it didn't connect. There was only 1 bar in the connection status and there was a brick wall in front of the globe. I updated to Limewire 4.18.3 but still nothing. Updated Jave to Java 6 update 10 Beta. Still same results. Last, with no options left, I decided to go to zSHARE - gnutella.net and downloaded the file and replaced the old one with this one. Well!!! It worked like a charm!!! I opened Limewire 4.18.3 and the connection bars started rising...and rising until they became all green and guess what? The brick wall just disappeared!!!....Now that's amazin!!!! I have to give a shout out to Birdy and his excellent tips!!! Thanks mate!! You were a real help!!!

What the hell? I just did the same thing I've been doing with the gnutella.net file and NOW it's working. I still have the brick wall, but my connection strength is full. Sweet.

Same problem. I've tried replacing the gnutella.net file and reinstalling the program. I'm back to Square One.

You need to turn on Show All Hidden Files & Folders under View options of your search function on your computer.
