Trying to connect

Hi,
Ive had Limewire for 5 years now and havnt had a problem at all.But these past two weeks ive tried to connect and itll say "starting connection" then itll say "disconnected" then "starting connection" again.Sometimes itll stay there and not move but other times itll get as far as "fair connection" and just stay ther and not move.Ive tried restarting my pc and even reloaded the programme.Ive taken down my firewall and just about everything i can think of.Any ideas?

Posting in the right forum section helps too. (Moved from Phex program section.) Reading the forums rules helps too. We can't help much without your system details. ;)

At best, try these options: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html :)

Wont connect.

Ive downloaded the new version and it wont connect and ive even downloaded a few of the old versions and the thing wont connect. The weird thing is that it wont connect during the week but come Friday night it would connect.I connected the brand new version and now Limewire will not connect at anytime. The computer is running on Vista which ive heard can be a problem.Ive swapped and changed Firewalls im currently using Mcafee. But even with turning the firewall on and off kit makes no difference to the Limewire program.Whatever i do it will not connect.

Any suggestions?

Set LW to connect & listen to a higher port such as one between 49152 - 65535 in your Firewall options in LW.

Other than that, change ISP's might be way to go. Find an ISP that will give you the promise in writing that they are not anti-p2p & will not restrict your p2p sharing use in any way. :) Research them re: p2p sharing on the internet too. :)
