Question Won't Connect somebody plz help!!!

I have limewire pro v. 4.18.1 and Java 1.6.0_07
and i have never had problems on my old XP but now when I installed vista it won't connect at all, it gets stuck at the starting connections part.

System info
1. OS version? Windows vista Admin account

2. What firewalls you have? Windows firewall

3. How much ram? 3 GB

4. Hard Disk space available? 250 GB

5. Connection type? LAN and Internet

6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Linksys NR041

7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?Home

8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? Limewire Pro v. 4.18.1 and Java 1.6.0_07

9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Bell

10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Internet Explorer Cannot Display Webpage

11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? Yes with one desktop computer through router. Limewire works find on the desktop.

12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. this is my first problem but this is also the first time trying it on vista

13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?
Yes there is a brick wall but have config. wfirewall to let limewire through.

14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled?
i have no idea if it is UPnP enabled and i tried the port forwarding but it still doesn't work. Maybe i did it wrong?

15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall
I have Symantec Antivirus corporate edition. Other than that just the windows stuff like windows defender and firewall.

16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland).Canada =)

I would really appreciate any tips ppl have. Have tried all the posted ones in the general can't connect thread. Only thing not sure about is the port forwarding cuz i have no idea how to check if that worked besides the fact that limewire still doesn't work.

That means the connection port is being blocked by something. Yes it might be semi related to your attempted port forwarding. Did you try rebooting & reloading that page?

Did you set up a static ip before you port forwarded?

Ah .. I just realised ... you are using the network with another desktop computer. Now .. is that computer also using LW? If yes, then make sure they are not using the same port. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools > Options > Advanced > Firewalls. Now check both listening & connection ports on both LW's on each computer. Are they the same? If yes, then you will need to change the ports of one. That means you may need to redo your port forwarding. Safe ports to use are (49152 - 65535) such as port 64049.

FYI: routers will reserve a particular port for each program for each computer. So if you have used a particular port for connection & listening thru on one program, then you'd need to use a different port for a different program. That also applies for different computers on the network. eg: if you had LW on 4 computers on network, each would need to use different connection & listening ports.
