no searches.. low connection

I used my limewire 2 days ago and tried to use it yest and today and its not working anymore. When i search for a song nothing comes up and i noticed the connection at the bottom only had 1 bar. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling twice and that didnt work and i read through some of the other posts and my license box IS NOT checked and I tried to delete some of the hosts and that didnt seem to work either.. can someone help me, im not computer savvy! thank you!!

thank you so much! i went through the list starting at the top and the one that worked for me was "DELETE LIMEWIRE'S PREFERENCES FOLDER" thanks again!

listen ppl i dont know how to contact yall so i figure this is it.... i have been having a problem with lime wire since i downloaded it, first of all, i do not have any firewalls on my computer active, i do have one on our router but i have tried working the program with that one disabled also,it always says i am behind a firewall, i have tried deleting it and redownloading itseveral times to no avail, i am running windows xp with service pack 3 on a 6.0 dsl connection and i am at a loss, please contact me letting me know what the hell im doing wrong if anything, sincerely, johnnyugo
