Limewire (all of a sudden) won't connect

My limewire was running fine for months and months without problems and now will not connect.

I've turned off firewalls, uninstalled/re-installed 5 times, reset both my router and modem, restarted my computer, set the program rules in Norton, and even tried to use a random 60000 port in the limewire listening port. NOTHING!

I've been using Ares since.

But I want my limewire back.

1. OS version? "Vista Premium 32-bit"
2. What firewalls you have? "2, 1 on. windows firewall off/Norton 360 ON"
3. How much ram? "4.0 GB"
4. Hard Disk space available? "A ton (over 500 GB)"
5. Connection type? "Cable"
6. Modem & router brand? "Motorolla Modem/LinkSys Wired Router"
7. Where are you trying to connect from? "House"
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? "LimWire 4.18.6/Java 1.6.0_07"
9. Who is your ISP? "Comcast"
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? "YOUR TEST WORKED!!"
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? "NO"
12. Is this your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user? "NEW problem for EXPERIENCED user"
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? "YES"
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up? "UPnP enabled"
15. What security programs are you using? "Norton 360"
16. What country are you living in? "USA"

Everything checks out guys. I don't have a clue as to what is wrong.

It would be nice if the next version came with a DIAGNOSTIC button or something because that "Your test worked!!" is bogus and you know it.

I've also recently performed a comprehensive virus scan to see if anything could be interfering and there's nothing.

Very old post. Now it's July, 2014. After years of having NO Problems connecting and staying connected, suddenly, I can do neither! Anyone know what's up with that?

Would you be able to provide your system details like the first poster did? That might help us to help you. :)

If you haven't already seen it, check http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html or if using LW 4, check that link at top of the linked page because the suggestions to try are a little different.
