Default Firewall/Loopback connection problems?

I getting that message when I try and open Limewire- it doesn't work. Ive deleted it and redownloaded it a bunch of times. My firewalls turned off, so its not that...

nothings working, here are my details:

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Windows XP

2. What firewalls you have? There all turned off

3. How much ram? 504 MB

4. Hard Disk space available? 16.36GB

5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Broadband

6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? D-Link WBR-1310

7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? home

8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help bar > About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. Limewire- 4.18.8, Java-1.6.0.70 J2SE- 1.5.0.60 Click to see Sample image

9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Road Runner/Brighthouse networks

10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It worked

11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No

12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New problem

13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Cant get into it

14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? dont know

15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall

16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). USA

17. Has anything in your setup changed recently? Have you updated your version of LW or Java? Have you added any new software or new hardware? Have you updated any software? Have you moved house, changed internet plan or ISP etc etc?

I had gotten a virus, and downloaded a bunch of anti virus programs, and when I had gotten rid of the virus, I couldnt get into Limewire anymore- so right now (I think they all expired tho) I have AVG, windows live one care (that firewall is turned off), and I have a program just called antispyware- which I cant get rid of-its not an option on add/remove programs.

Try giving the tips in this Sticky a try as something in your limewire may of become corupted when you had the virus....
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html

If that doesn't help try Port Forwarding your modem/router as it has a Nat Firewall within...these are your instructions...
Port Forwarding for the D-Link WBR-1310

Have you tried to uninstall antispyware via your Start > All Programs...
The uninstall option may be there....

Here's some reliable free protection...Just make sure you only have one AV program though as if you have more it can cause conflicts and leave you unprotected...You can have as many Anti-spyware apps as your want, the more the better as they all pick up something different...

Anti-virus:

avast!

AVG free

Avira Antivir

Antispyware etc:

Ad-Aware __(FREE)

Spybot - Search & Destroy __(FREE)

AVG Antispyware (formerly Ewido)

It could be that antispyware you said you can't get rid of, it may be detecting limewire as a threat and therefore not letting it start up...

Did you try uninstalling it ??

Antispyware 2008 XP sounds like bad news: Vundo / Antispyware xp 2008 - dslreports.com

There's some info & a possible fix here: How to Remove AntiSpyware XP 2008 (Uninstall Instructions)

If you're still stuck, maybe you could post at the bleeping computer forum & they might be able to help you more

That sounds similar to what my brother got on his work laptop, he had to get the tech to restore the whole thing .....I also helped out a friend with the same thing I ended up getting rid of it with Spybot Search and Destroy none of the others could get it, they detected it but couldn't eradicate it....

They picked this nasty up just simply surfing the net, suddenly a scan starts running and if you click on anything within the window your stuck with it....
