Benz10. I remember the pain of this only too well. Limewire and Frostwire are very difficult to Uninstall. You should always try to Uninstall these programs from their own Uninstall program, never from the Windows Uninstall Program page. If you have already tried to Uninstall then go into the C: Directory, R/click, Open, and select 'Programs'. Then look for any traces of Limewire and Frostwire. If you find them then delete them. Take very great care NOT TO DELETE any other program by mistake. 'Progams' is an area wherein you should venture only if you are completely sure of what you are doing. After you have Uninstalled both to the best of your ability then Install Frostwire. God willing it will come to life. Wthin Frostwire you should find the option to install Limewire Pro. It seems as if you are going to use Frostwire to get Limewire free of charge but you will find that during the Limewire download you will be asked for your Purchase Ref. Number (I can't remember the exact term that is used) Enter this Ref.. and, if their is a God in heaven IT will realise how much you have suffered and open the Limewire Program for you. There again IT might not. It took me 5 weeks to open Limewire the first time and it only took Limewire 2 weeks to corrupt my hard drive completely. I was able to open it again after reformatting my hard drive and re-installing everything, and it only took 3 weeks before I was infected again. Twice bitten was enough for me. Having said that my Grandsons have used both programs for over a year without any problems. They only use it to download music at lousy bit rates (lower than 256) and I pour scorn (lovingly) on them for doing so.
There is a good rule to follow when starting out on your downloading career and that is 'You only get what you pay for'. Always research the forums before parting with your precious money. And one thing more; Do Not allow your computer to be used to upload from your files to the Limewire site. Therein lives Monsters.
Good Luck
