Unhappy Connection Issues

I've tried just about everything I can find on these forums to try and connect to Limewire. It opens alright and everything, but only gets to one bar. I tried downloading Frostwire, and it just keeps telling me that there is no valid internet connection when I'm definitely connected.

I really don't know the information since I'm on a college campus, and my computer is only part of the network. Also, there is a firewall icon shown. I let both Limewire and Frostwire through the computer's firewall, but still no connection. I have no other firewalls that I'm aware of.

That is most likely your problem. Most colleges nowadays either block or shape p2p sharing programs. If you also tried Phex to no avail, then only other option I could think of would be using proxies which can be a painful experience finding ones that work. And still no guarantee that will work.
