Connecting Directly to a Person
 

Hi i have Limewire 4.18.8 and when i find a person in searches i do Browse host to see if he has any other stuff in my interest.

And when i do so it opens another tab with his IP adress..
i wrote it down.. and then closed the tab (bearing in mind that when i do Browse Host it works).

Then i click on search and at the bottom it has a tab saying "Direct Connect" and when i enter the persons IP which is something like 192.168.1.101:50379.. it opens a tab attempt to browse the host and the tab closes... this never works.. any ideas?

Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This is for your own protection.

Direct Connect can be difficult. Very rarely will you be able to direct connect to ip addresses starting with 192. or 10. ... as they are network ip addresses. That's the way it's always been. ;)

Other addresses it depends on so many things, whether their & your firewalls are properly set up, whether you both have free upload & download slots or bandwidth, etc. It certainly helps if they have chat enabled for some reason. :)

Thank you Lord of the Rings, thats saved me alot of time coz i spent the last three days trying to figur out why my pc is so SH** and neva lets me do anything... Poor pc its nto its fault lol

... it would help if people had their chat on, and limewire should reali try to sort this problem out even though they already know about it... i mean i have 2 of the best IP addresses saved and i so wanna browse them but cant find them anymore.. they both have tons of new movies that i want in HD :'(
