Ok so I am having a problem connecting also. I have a laptop with Windows XP and I have tried turning off the firewall and enabling limewire program and it did not work. I do have a router, I dont know if that makes a difference...the thing that strikes me as weird is that I was able to connect before, it just stopped working recently. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, so I have a laptop at home, with a router that I use to connec to the home computer. I used to use limewire and my router connecting through another laptop and it worked fine. For some reason the firewall will not let me through. I have tried turning the firewall off, I have put limewire as an exception, I have tried changing the listening port...Im thinking maybe it has something to do with the other computer but any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.:xeri_ok1ani:

Have your problem been resolved, because I'am having the same problem.

Connection & listening port are best different to the other computer. You may also need to put LW as an exception on the other computer's firewall depending on your set up.

hmmm

well I took your tip to download frostwire and then if that worked to try using limewire and that didnt work. but, frostwire has an awesome connection, so my ? is...is frostwire as good or better than limewire? if so, ill keep using it.

It's just as good, if you like it keep using it. :)
It does sound to me like the Gnutella.net file for LW is out of date & needs replacing. Sometimes installing FW auto replaces it, sometimes not.

How is this done. Re-installing FW.
