This thread is very hard to read, don't kill me if I'm not exactly sure what your problem is but as I read it, you can open LW now, but it's still unable to initialise & start. Is that right? What's the brand & model of your router? You said that you deleted the .limewire preferences folder & later the LimeWire prefs folder... delete the LimeWire again. Did you change the listening port as LOTR suggested? Try reverting to an earlier version of Java & see whether that makes any difference. Try this version: Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 Download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions before installing another one. If it doesn't change anything, you can always reinstall the latest Java. If nothing there helps, set up another account & install LW to that. Once LW's installed, go tools > options > advanced > firewall. Change LW's listening port to 65000 > tick 'use UPnP' > Apply > ok. See if that connects. If it doesn't connect, back into advanced > firewall > tick 'manual port forward' & enter LW's listening port into the text field > Apply > ok. And if nothing works, try this older version of LW. It's safe to download (one of my installers that I've hosted). Sometimes different versions work when others don't, for unknown reasons: LW basic 4.16.0.exe |
