![]() Okay so I know there have been a lot of posts with limewire firewall problems. I looked at all of them and they aren't helping me with my problem. So I was wondering if you guys could help me out a bit. So I have had limewire for about a year now and had only one firewall problem. Which was very easy to fix I just followed steps to configure my firewall and it worked perfectly up until now. I just log in to Limewire and it says a firewall is blocking it! I been trying everything. I know its not my firewall becuse I disabled everything and my computer said that ALL my firewalls were TURNED OFF. I also Reinstalled limewire and took the test and everything was fine. Now maybe you can help me out a little... ![]() I use Windows XP and I have 2 firewalls Norton and Windows. I use a Router that is in my house. I never really had any problem until last night its really frusterating lol. I have Lime 4.18 the newest version and my test works. The problem is that all my firewalls on my computer were disabled and the brick is still around the globe. Please help and 1 more thing does it matter if i port forward or unp connect. Should i have unp connected on limewire. And how would I do that through my Windows. THANKS ![]() |

![]() Are you seeing an error, saying that LW can't initialise & start because of a firewall or loopback connections? Or are you seeing the firewall icon & LW will start, but it won't connect?? Don't run Norton & Windows firewalls together. Running 2 software firewalls at once won't give you more protection & it may leave you with less - the firewalls will clash with each other & neither one will be working properly. Turn off XP's firewall. Now remove all LW rules from within the Norton firewall's config. Start from scratch & add rules for LW all over again. See the links below for help. PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall http://www.gnutellaforums.com/226610-post6.html Please give us your system details: System details - help us to help you -> Provide these details when you post!!! Your router might have a firewall. Some routers work fine using UPnP, some need port forwarding set up for LW to work properly. If LW will start, but won't connect - try the fixes here: If LW Will Not Connect |
