Default Connectivity problem

Hi all,
My limewire just will not connect. The following are my system details.

Windows XP
Only ZoneAlarm's Firewall
2GB RAM
250 GB HD (partitioned)
ADSL connection
Connecting from my house
Using limewire version 4.18.8
Using java version 1.6.0_02
TSTT is my ISP in TRinidad
No, no other p2p software in use
Yes there is a brick wall in front of the blue world icon
I clicked the link http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ and the page did not load

One thing i noticed, after uninstalling and reinstalling many times ..... limewire did not ask me to specify which directory i want my files to go in. This morning i called my ISP and asked that their firewall for my account be turned off.... and the did turn it off for me. I then installed limewire again and guess waht, it asked me to specify a directory and stuff.
Hope it helps. Thank you .

Have you been able to use LW in the past, or is this your first try?

What's the brand & model of your modem/router?

If you had to go through the whole setup wizard after you installed LW, that's a good thing - sounds like you deleted LW's preferences folder.

Try the fixes in the link below. First thing to try is changing ports

Yes i have been able to use limewire from way back when.....I am an experienced limewire user........guess i'm not tha experienced......LOL

The type of router is the ZHONE 6211-I3 ADSL2+ Router

I checked out that link.....a friend of mine said i should use portfoward to change the port but i have to set up a ststic IP address first. I not quite sure what i;m doing ....but i'll try something .... LOL

Thank you,

Since LW's default port is 'blocked' in your test (the port test you did failed), first of all you can simply try changing LW's listening port. If you didn't have port forwarding set up when LW was working, this is the easiest thing to try first. See the link I gave you for instructions about changing ports.

If that doesn't work, you can try port forwarding. Setting up the static IP isn't so hard, you just have to take your time going through the instructions
PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

Below are the port forwarding instructions for your router. Don't panic because it's referring to a Paradyne router... looks like your Zhone = Paradyne (Zhone 6211-I3 ADSL2+ CPE Router - bridge/router - Compare prices, reviews, user opinions - Shopper.com)

Port Forwarding for the Paradyne 6211-I3

Just remember - LW's listening port, port in LW's 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within your router's setup pages must all be the same number

Hi....I finally got around to doing this thing.....but i did every thing and followed the instructions very carefully and still limewire will not connect. I failed to mention that windows firewall was on .....I went inti zone alarm and checked the disable windows firewall option. The stuff i copied poff command line before i did anything are as follows: IP- 192.168.1.2

The other stuff are : Subnet mask: 225.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.11
DNS Server: 192.168.11

The static IP address I selected is 192.168.1.8
I believed LW will work after that ......but sadly it did not. I don't know wat to do.

'Some' routers you need to reboot them before the changes take effect. I do not know about your brand though.

Did you port forward both TCP & UDP? And set the same port in LW's listening port setting?

Ok so much for that......Ohh and the TCP/UDP thing was something i did not do the firat time so i fixed that this time. I used the router info, rebooted the router and then opened lime wire and it stuck on loading peers... ? I reset my PC and when i tried to use explorer....I had no connectivity.... I fixed this by undoing the changes made to the network connection for internet...
Guys I really don't know what else to do ...... I don't know if the ISP has some firewall that I don't know about.....
