Hi jorick1,

:welcomeani:

Try the fixes in the thread below.
If LW Will Not Connect

If nothing there helps, please post back with your system details. The thread above has info about which details we need.

Man I have tried just about everythng. I even uninstalled Norton 360 and installed Avast. Uninstalled LW, disabled the dvanced options in LW. I am bout ready to give up. What keeps me going is it's probab;y something simple. Soooo frustrating. It worked just a few days ago. It worked 1 day then it didn't then it did, now nothing!

After you deleted LW's preferences folder & restarted LW, did you have to go through the setup wizard again?

Go & find your gnutella.net file... hover your cursor over the file. How big is it?

Cant seem to find it

jorick1 January 3rd, 2009 06:07 PM

did you mean inm explorer?

birdy January 3rd, 2009 06:11 PM

No, I mean within your preferences folder... like it says in this thread (click on blue link): If LW Will Not Connect

I hate to sound stupid are you talking in advance section in limewire? I have clicked on If LW Will Not Connect I don't know how many times. I have not found a fix yet. Some things are just not making sense

This link is taken from the help thread (click on this link): LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista

Close LW completely & then follow those directions to find your preferences folder (which is named LimeWire). Delete that folder, then restart LW & see if it connects.

If it doesn't connect, go back & find the folder named LimeWire (you just deleted it but now there'll be a new one). Open that folder. Inside it will be a file named gnutella.net. That's the file that the original help thread If LW Will Not Connect tells you to replace. The help thread has links for downloading a new gnutella.net file.
Close LW completely before you replace the gnutella.net file.

Ileft LW opened and my laptop on all night and when I woke up it was connected and working like a charm. Go figure.
