I was able to connect flawless about 2 days ago now today nothing just 1 bar HELP!!!!!
 
First of all im not new to limewire but after all these problems im about to be gone please help. A few days ago i was able to connect fine there has bean no changes to my computer and now i get 1 bar and can't connect i've uninstalled reinstalled tryed darn near every help suggestion on the forum but nothing
1. im using Vista
2. i have norton 360 08 firewall and windows firwall however windows is shut off and i tryed shutting off norton which did nothing
3.ive got 1G of ram
4. about 100G of disk space left
5. im using cable modem
6. modem type terayon model number tj715x, Router type linksys wrt54g v2.2
7.im connecting from home in a apartment
8. lime wire 4.18.8 java version 1.6.0_11
9. Charter Communications
10. the test worked
11. The wire less router is running by cable to a desktop and wireless to my laptop and PS3 (when its on)
12. i am an experianced user and this is a reoccuring problem last time it did this to me i quit using lime wire for ruffly a month or so, then reinstalled it a few days ago first it worked fine now i get 1 bar
13. yes but even when i disengaged my firewalls it was still there
14. not sure if that has to do with security on my router if so my router is secure with wep something or other. Other wise im not sure what your talking about
15. Norton anti virus 360 2008, exeptions are enabled for limewire
16. USA
17. nothing has changed since three days ago when it was working


Please help me id greatly appreciate it

Try reconfiguring the Norton firewall - remove the current LW rules & then add new ones. A couple of links here which might help...

There are lots of connection fixes to try in this thread: If LW Will Not Connect
Start off by deleting LW's preferences folder (that thread has a link with info for Vista users). If that doesn't fix things, the next thing to do is replace your gnutella.net file:)

If none of the fixes in that thread work, look at port forwarding for your router. The instructions are here: Port Forwarding for the Linksys WRT54G
First of all, you'll need to set up a static IP address: PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall
LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within router setup all have to be the same number;)
When LW was connecting ok, did you still see the firewall icon?
