connection help please
 

Hello:

I have tired many things to get lime wire to connect. No matter what I do I still can not connect. I have lime wire pro which I paid for over a month ago. I have Gnutella Turbo installed, and also I have the latest updates to Java. I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times. I tired to get java off my computer many times and reinstall but my machine won't let me uninstall java. I do not understand that.

I have a dell machine, vista, cable hookup, bright house, all kinds of space, yahoo e-mail, earth link e-mail also. I do not know what else to tell you. macafee protection and it says it allows limewire. I am out of ideas. Can someone please tell me what else I can do.

In Limewire Links (below) click on (If LW will not connect) and go through these fixes -- scroll down and start here:-
DELETE/REPLACE gnutella.net FILE -- N O T E: when you replace the gnutella.net file with a new one ensure that the
filesize is not 0 (zero) bytes -- if so download another gnutella.net file.
if this doesnt fix your problem scroll down and try this:- DELETE LIMEWIRE'S PREFERENCES FOLDER -- if problem remains go
back up to the top and go through the rest of the fixes ---
if still no good click on (system details) fill in and post back here

Thank you for you help. I have never been able to find a prefrence folder anywhere. Maybe you could tell me how to get to in. I also tried to uninstall java and reinstall and my machine won't let me uninstall java. I know this must sound nuts but what can I say.

I will try and uninstalling gnutella and then do a reinstall

Hi Lenny,not a problem -- the preference folder is another word for the Limewire Folder so where you see instructions for preference folder -- they mean Limewire folder
