Stuck at starting connection

my router is upnp compliant. my program is windows vista. when i startup limewire it just keeps staying on starting connection but will not go any further. i have the firewall set to allow limewire to connect but the firewall sign is still showing. new to all this because it worked before with no problems. what can i do. forgive me if this question has already been answered in another thread but this is my first time here.

Start off by deleting/replacing the gnutella.net file, if that doesn't work then delete LW's preferences folder (there's a link for Vista users in that thread). Otherwise, go through the rest of the fixes.
