Thanks for taking the time to read this, reply if you have any ideas.

I have a very similar problem. I have a wireless linksys router, but believe that my frequent disconnection is due to the modem. Let me explain:

We have 3 computers which all see each other fine, and use the internet just fine. When I use Limewire Pro, especially when downloading more than one file at a time and usually when exceeding 600k/bps the internet just seems to turn off. I use Firefox and go to: 192.168.1.1 and login to my Linksys router and release, wait 5 secs, renew the IP on the router, then it begins working again. In some cases I have to do this every 5-10 minutes for hours if I want to complete my file transfers. When we have limewire running on 2 computers the problem is exponentially worse. There are never any issues when Limewire is not in use.

If this helps, my internet connection is Time Warner RoadRunner. (who I have had out here several times and finally got the cheap bistards to put in all new cable and a signal booster on the line at their expense. Complaining gets you everywhere.)

Anyone who has advice would really be appreciated. Also I am new to these forums and feel free to move this post if it's in the wrong spot.
