Default LIMEWIRE starts and when i search its blank no matter what

what am i doing wrong, i have updated the limewire to the current version
i start up and everything is looking good.

i only have one bar and there is a firewall detected
i have turned all of the know firewalls off, so i then search for a song or artist and no matter what its blank, regardless of what i search for

any help would be good here, i have used limewire for a long time and this is the first problem i have ever had

Yes. I have been having the same problem!

I have noticed that I omly get one bar on my connection. It is constantly on 'starting connection' and never seems to gain any more bars. I have updated limewire, but no difference. I used to get 'turbo charged connection' but suddenly; maybe two days ago, it never went past 'starting connetion'.

Can somebody please help us out as it seems I am not the only one who has started to have problems!

Thanks
Steve

Default Connection Problems

I'm having the same problem. I think it is a network problem. I hope someone has an answer soon.

Im hayabusas daughter i have sorted out my mothers problem AGAIN as is the norm, in this house.
This is what you need to do if you have norton. Go to internet settings, open program control, press configure, and allow all programs, they are all trust worthy, you might even find other programs working better also. After allowing all, your limewire will be back up and running and you can start downloading again (btw either a £5 or pack of cigs as payment thank you.) (She's only joking(i think)) RUN

You will have windows firewall right? Make sure LW is on the list of exceptions. Setting up an exception for LimeWire in your software firewall (click in link)

For those who updated their LW & then had connection problems, the problem is usually the gnutella.net file, but also possibly the advanced performance settings; check suggestions here If LW Will Not Connect (click on the blue link)

Otherwise, the problem might be your modem/router's NAT protection which has a similar effect as a firewall. We need to know which brand And model, which is why we always strongly ask people for their system details, we cannot help much without them (breathes out more easily now)
