 Upgraed to Vista64 Now LimeWire will not work I upgraded to Vista 64bit From Win Xp 32bit. LimeWire 4.12.6 Pro loads but will not pass threw the Firewall. My Firewall is set to allow it and my Spyantivirus software it set to. I installed the Java file My system: LimeWire 4.12.6 Pro, Java 1.6.0_12, AMD dual CPU 2.3 Ghz 4Gb memory, 400gb HD, Internet Cable, Any ideal how to get it running. Second ? I want to upgrade my LimeWire but can't remember my Email address from when I registered it 10 years ago. I have a new email now. does any one know how to get a hold of LimeWire by phone or mailing address or some way to reach them so I can get an upgrade. They will only let you upgrade if you have the original email that you registered with. Thank You Jamesk  |

| It may be because you have such an old version of limewire, i have suggested to a few people that they download this version of limewire Download LimeWire Basic 4.18.8 - FileHippo.com, because they are having a few other problems as well. OR it may be because sometimes a certain version of LimeWire isn't compatible with vista, i have heard that from a few friends  |

| Got LW 4.12.6 to work with Vista 64bit They will not let me download LW Pro. They want my email from when I paid for it. Which was so long ago I can't remeber it. But I can't get in touch with them to let them know my new email address. Which really suck and gets me mad. They have no was to contact them about this. Any way I downloaded the new 5.xx but first went into myusername\Appdata\roaming\limewire\version.key I saved this file version.key and sent it aside. Then installed 5.xx it ran fine. then close it and then copied the version key back in where I got it from then install LW 4.12.6 Pro over top of the 5.xx ran it and it runs fine. I got LW 4.12.6 to run on Vista 64bit I wish there was some how I could get the new 5.xx pro to upgrade to. But Lw stops me right at the door for not rembering my old e-mail. I wish I could find it, some were in the software data files. So I could upgrade. Thanks a Million for your help Its the first time I have got help on here. |
