WOW as in Wild Open West cable modem? Is the actual brand a WebSTAR?

Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

Things to try: If LW Will Not Connect (click on the blue link)

If you have checked the other link, then you know that you need to post your system details.

Remember this??? It was in huge letters in the help thread: System details - help us to help you -> Provide these details when you post!!!
If we don't have your details then we can't help any more.

After you deleted your gnutella.net file, did you also try replacing it with one from the links in the help thread?

After you deleted LW's preferences folder - did you have to go through the setup wizard all over again?

Which port numbers did you try?

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) If using Windows Vista, please tell us whether you have an Administrator user account. - Vista
2. What firewalls you have? Windows firewall
3. How much ram? 138 GB
4. Hard Disk space available? 99.5GB
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) - Cable Wide Open West
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? (eg: Linksys WRT54Gv4) Modem Arris TM502G & Route NetGear WGR614 v7
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? house
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help bar > About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. _ Click to see Sample image Using LW 5
*It's very important that you tell us whether you're using LW 5*
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Wide Open West
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It says your test worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No other computers or P2P

13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? I am behind a firewall and do not support a firewall transfer_ click here to see Sample image
If you're using LW5, there's no firewall icon. In LW go tools > advanced tools...there you'll see whether you're behind a firewall or not.

Have you moved house, changed internet plan or ISP etc etc? I've added Microsoft office but LW was working with the new software

I am using manual port 12241 and listening port 6346

Which Java version do you have?

Does your McAfee security not have a firewall included, or do you have the McAfee firewall turned off?

Did you have any trouble with any of the fixes in the help thread? Especially with deleting the gnutella.net file & deleting preferences folder?? Were you able to find the file & folder ok? And after deleting the prefs folder, did you go through LW's setup wizard all over again when you started LW?
Just in case you did have trouble, here's a link to a post with info about how another Vista user found & deleted their gnutella.net file...maybe it'll be easier to do it that way: http://forum.limewire.org/showthread...9401#post19401

Have you tried enabling UPnP within your router (I think it might be turned off by default) & then choosing the UPnP option within LW's tools > options > advanced > super really advanced > firewall page? Click ok in LW's options to save the change.

Do you have a port forwarded within your router setup, or have you just got port forwarding ticked within LW's options? Try changing both LW's listening port & manual port forward to 65000 (they need to be the same number) > ok.

If you have a port forwarded within your router setup, you'll need to forward a new port (65000) to match the port numbers in LW's options:) Did you have this set up also for your previous version of LW, or have you just set this up since the connection probs started?
Did you make sure to set up a static IP address before port forwarding? You'll need to do that, for port forwarding to work. Did you use these instructions for port forwarding (click on link)? Port Forwarding for the Netgear WGR614v7
There's an orange link within those instructions with info about how to set up a static IP address.

I had the 4.16.11 version of LW and it worked perfectly well...but then when I went on it yesterday, it would not connect. I thought it was just a glitch so when I tried today, the same thing happened. I uninstalled it and deleted all the LW files, and i installed LW5. It's still not connecting and I checked all my firewall stuff and it's set to allow everything from LW. Any advice would be much appreciated.
