Limewire 5.0.1 Pro - Freezes-HungApp?
 

Hello,

Well here we go again! Updated my Limewire to Version 5 and I'll I to see is the home page and that's about it!

The whole application freezes. Connects to about medium level. Can't use any menu options, nothing.

May be we should rename it Lemonwire. Nothing but problems with Limewire the last year or so. Prior to that I very rarely had any problems?!

Any suggestions as to how to fix. The last version had problems as well.

I've already done the standard fare: 1) recent version of Java, etc.

Edit-Update: The reason it is freezing is that it has decided to try and download my whole music library. It didn't even give me a chance to say no. I had this feature "off" under my previous version.

Under this new version how do I just share what I download but not "My Music". Don't know because I can't even get to the options menu to make changes because it freezes from trying to download so much music.

1. You could start here (deleting previous LW preferences:) Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

Hi Lord of the Rings:

How are you? The one good thing about the new Limewire is that it is in large print so I can see it! Appreciate the instructions and further information on "how to download" within the New Limewire.

I don't particularly like the "menu options" and some of the lack of information for what you are downloading, i.e. doesn't tell you whether it is an mp3, wma.

Prefer the keep it simple approach. I don't quite know why it is such a make work project just to prevent Limewire from downloading your whole hard drive.

Will let you know what happens!
