firewalled by unknown firewall At my wit's end, here. Have been on the forums for 4 hours searching for answers (not counting the hours spent searching the utorrent forums before). It seems like everyone has the same problem but there's never a solution. I hate to post a new thread but after finding no answer I'm forced to do so. I'll try to be as brief as possible: Was using Utorrent for weeks. It stopped downloading and said that I had no incoming connections and the port checker said that port 14626 was not open. A few weeks later my service was temporarily disconnected. When it was turned on I had incoming connections once again for about a week then it stopped working again. I figured Utorrent was f*d so I decided to ditch it and try Limewire. SOS, different day. It is showing only one green bar and a firewall. I have turned Norton and windows firewalls off and still no change. I have tried port-forwarding, random ports, forced protocol encryption, enabled port mapping and all the other suggestions on this forum but I can't figure out why Limewire is detecting a firewall. Where is it coming from? I read on a post that the problem might be due to a NAT firewall. I have no clue how to find that out. I also tried the link in the STICKY to test the ISP and it would not work (timed out). I'm going around in circles, here. I have a Linksys WRT110 wireless router, SB5101 Surfboard cable modem provided by CablePlus DSL, Windows Vista 32 Home Premium, Limewire 4.18.8. How can I locate the firewall, especially if it's located in the modem? (Oh, yeah: I can't even access the advanced page for my router, now. It says that there is a problem with my network settings and can't open the page.) Can my ISP still throttle if I have forced protocol encryption? Thanks in advance for any other suggestions! |
